Health is a state of ever changing dynamic equilibrium in which the body strives to maintain proper
balance as it constantly adapts to the world around it. There are many factors that contribute to the
body’s ability to sustain functional health. At Vital Harmonys we believe our products can be used to
support the body’s strength, wellness and vitality and revitalize health and longevity. Along with our
contribution to the health and wellness of our nation there are other health building principles everyone
can incorporate into their healthy lifestyle. This part of our web site will be dedicated to sharing
wellness principles beneficial to a total wellness way of life. We will post these concepts as often
as we can while we are working on this section.

Wellness Principle: The caretaker of you health is the person who prepares your meals.
The dinner table is sometimes considered the front line of the battle zone when it comes to winning the
war of maintaining your health. The choices we make on the type of foods we eat determine the level
of commitment we make to staying healthy. For some it is difficult to spend the necessary time needed
to prepare a healthy meal. Because of time constraints in these situations the common choice is fast
food or pre prepared foods in order to keep up with the busy schedules of family members. Although
this is the reality many families face we need to keep in mind that this is where the battle for health is
fought.

The easiest way to manage meal preparation is to plan weekly menus. Planning ahead keeps shopping
organized and cuts down on mealtime preparation time. Often preparing a healthy dinner only takes as
long as pre-prepared foods if everything you need for the meal is already available. It is when we
don’t plan that we chose the fast or pre prepared foods.

Snacking is another area highly processed denatured foods can slip into our diet. People get hungry
between meals and will just grab the quickest thing they can find to eat. If the cupboards are full of
prepackaged snacks like candy, chips and donuts that’s what will get eaten because they are
convenient. But, if healthy foods like fruits, vegetables, granola, nuts and seeds are the only handy
food available they would get eaten instead of the junk foods. Take healthy snacks to work then you
won’t have to purchase quick snacks from vending machines or convenience store.
